MOSCOW, RUSSIA / RankWire.AI / – Russia’s non-resource, non-energy exports have gone beyond $96 billion from January through July 2026, reflecting an 8% increase compared to the same period last year. First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov announced this year-on-year growth in the latest report on Russian exports. This category omits Russia’s traditional raw materials and energy shipments. Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov highlighted that small and midsize enterprises contributed $15.9 billion to the overall export figure for the same period, representing roughly 17% of Russia’s non-resource, non-energy exports during these months. Currently, approximately 42,700 small and midsize firms are involved in export activities. These SMEs also accounted for 1,042 of the 1,341 applications for the 2026 Exporter of the Year awards, representing 76 Russian regions across all eight federal districts.
Data for the first half of the year show Russia’s industrial non-resource, non-energy exports reaching $58.8 billion from January to June. This compares with $57.1 billion during the same period in 2025, indicating a year-on-year increase of about 3% in the industrial export sector. The Industry and Trade Ministry identified several manufacturing categories with higher foreign sales, offering further detail on the sectors driving Russia’s non-resource export growth in 2026.
Key sectors see expansion in industrial shipments
Exports of chemical products grew 5.3% in the first half compared to the same period in 2025. Mineral and chemical fertilizer shipments rose by 10.4% over the six months. Metallurgy and precious metal exports increased by 5%, while light industry saw a substantial 25% growth. Pharmaceuticals, perfumes, and cosmetics also experienced an 11% rise. These figures pertain to industrial shipments within Russia’s non-resource, non-energy export classification, with all growth rates comparing January through June 2026 to the same months last year.
Russia has set a target of $155.25 billion for non-resource, non-energy exports for the entire year of 2026. Industrial goods are expected to constitute $116.95 billion of this total. During 2025, Russia recorded $163.7 billion in non-resource, non-energy exports, making the 2026 goal roughly 5% lower than the previous year’s total. These targets are part of the country’s International Cooperation and Export national project, which encompasses industrial products, agricultural exports, and export infrastructure development.
Russia’s long-term export ambitions remain focused on non-resource sectors
The same International Cooperation and Export initiative also establishes a 2030 goal of $248.1 billion for non-resource and non-energy merchandise exports. This figure represents a 67% increase compared to the 2023 baseline used by the program. The industrial goods segment is projected to reach $192.9 billion of this target. The Russian Export Center plays an active role in providing support through digital services tailored to companies engaged in international trade.
